Passports


Passports are required for all students studying abroad.  Students should apply for a passport as soon as the decision to study abroad has been made.  The Texas Tech passport application acceptance office, located in the International Cultural Center, can process your paperwork and take your photos.  Processing time is usually 4 - 6 weeks.

Passport requirements include:  passport

1.  proof of citizenship - either a certified copy of your birth certificate (no photocopies accepted), naturalization papers, or a previous passport

2.  photo ID - driver's license preferred

3.  2 passport photos - may be taken at the ICC

4.  Completed application - pick up at the ICC or download from the State Dept website at http://travel.state.gov /passport


Fees are $110 (check or money order) for the passport.  Expedited service is an additional $60.  The $25 processing fee and $6 for photos can be paid with cash, check or money order.  Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
